Indian Creek Station Rehabilitation

Current Status: Construction

RIDER ALERT:

Starting September 16, 2024, all buses will return to the newly completed bus loop except routes 24 and 107, which will board at the Kiss & Ride in the eastern parking lot. Both east and west fare gates will be open. 

NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION NOISE

There will be construction noise from heavy machinery needed to install pilings for the new pedestrian bridge. This work will take place from Friday, Sept. 6, to Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Overview:  

MARTA is renovating Indian Creek Station as part of its State of Good Repair program. The most exciting new feature will be a pedestrian bridge that crosses over the tracks and connects to Durham Park Road on the north side of the station. There will also be extensive upgrades to the platform, concourse, walls, furniture, elevator, lighting, public artwork, landscaping, as well as deep cleaning. The timeline for completion of the pedestrian bridge is April 2025 and project is Spring 2025. 

Project Features   

  • A new Pedestrian Bridge for access from Durham Park Road 
  • New lighting and illuminated signage at the platform, plaza, and concourse levels
  • New wall paneling, metal doors, and door frames
  • New landscaping, trash receptacles, and benches
  • Pressure cleaning throughout the station 
  • New copper gutter system 
  • Repairing and refinishing the existing wood barrel ceiling
  • New concrete at the platform, plaza, and concourse levels 
  • New SMART Restroom for customers, as well as a new operator restroom on the platform level 
  • New paving of the parking lot and bus loop, and redesigning for better traffic flow  
  • New roof and wall paneling on the Police Precinct and the Traction Power Substation (TPSS) Building
  • Repair of the windscreens at the platform level  
  •  New artwork
